Purpose Statement
“The Xtreme Zone youth ministry exists to equip students for sharing Jesus Christ with non-believing peers, connecting those peers to God’s family while growing stronger in our prayer and praise to discover God’s awesome purpose for our lives.”
Pre-Teen Goals
The XtremeZone pre-teen ministry exists to equip students for sharing Jesus Christ with non-believing peers, connecting those peers to God’s family while growing stronger in our prayer and praise to discover God’s awesome purpose for our lives.
In order for our program to be successful, we need the help, cooperation and prayers of the ministry leaders, the parents and the students. It starts with evangelistic baby steps when leaders and parents encourage students to capture a vision for the lost. We call them baby steps because each student has the ability to handle this type of outreach. These baby steps however, are very powerful and they will help adults reach the lost as well. Here are the baby steps:
- Tell a friend that you are a Christian.
- Invite your friend to one of our programs.
- Tell your friend why you are a Christian.
- Tell you friend how you became a Christian.
- Ask your friend if they would like to become a Christian.
This process is called the "friendship evangelism challenge" and it was taken from "Purpose Driven youth Ministry" by Doug Fields.
The friendship evangelism challenge reaches the lost in our community. Once the lost have been saved, we then help them grow in their Christian walk through worship, fellowship, discipleship and ministry to transform from "community" to "core" Christians. This process is demonstrated in the image below.
